Set at the meeting point of the ladakh, karakoram, & saltoro ranges, stonehedge is nestled within a magnificent mountain expanse, with a glacial stream coursing through the property.
A rare balance of raw nature and considered design, every element is crafted to offer a sense of quiet luxury unique to this region. Just beyond your window, a glacial stream moves gently through the valley, while yaks grazing in the distance bring an authentic rhythm to the surroundings.
Stonehedge invites you to experience Nubra Valley through its spirituality, culture and pristine natural beauty in a setting that is both elevated and deeply rooted.
Elegant and adventurous
as the Tibetan Antelope
Radiant and enduring
like the Serchen Mentok
Stonehedge is crafted with stone for timelessness, earth for a sense of belonging, and wood that preserves the legacy of vernacular tribal craftsmanship. Inspired by the philosophy of Laurie Baker—pioneer of sustainable, organic architecture and a recipient of the Padma Shri—it is designed to merge seamlessly with its surroundings through the prudent use of materials and energy.
Because buildings,
too must breathe.
Twenty rooms, each imagined as a quiet refuge. Spaces that breathe — expansive, understated and shaped by soft tones and mindful details that invite you to slow down and settle in.
Every room opens onto a wide balcony, where the Trans-Himalayan mountains rise uninterrupted before you — vast, still, and quietly overwhelming.
At Stonehedge, service is quiet, precise and deeply personal — shaped as much by instinct as by experience. Grounded in the warmth of Ladakhi hospitality, the experience carries a sense of place — genuine, unforced, and inherently welcoming. From the way you are received to the smallest details within your room, every element is carefully considered, creating a stay that feels both refined and deeply rooted.

“The massage wasn’t beyond therapy, it felt ancestral.”
“Stonehedge didn’t try to impress me. It let Ladakh speak for itself.”
“The massage wasn’t beyond therapy, it felt ancestral.”
“Every morning the valley felt like a secret only we had been let into.”
“Silence here has a texture. I left lighter than I arrived.”

Wellness at our spa in Nubra begins quietly — with comfort, stillness and a space that allows you to soften. At the heart of this experience is our in-house Amchi, offering holistic consultations according to Sowa-Rigpa practices, rooted in ancient Himalayan healing traditions.
Each session is guided by gently assessing physical balance, mental clarity and subtle energies. Through personalised insights and natural therapies, the approach is both intuitive and restorative.
More than a consultation, it is a considered pause — an opportunity to realign, rebalance and reconnect with yourself.
Sems ki Dawa - In the quiet rhythm of touch,
the body softens and the mind follows.
Originating over 2,500 years ago in India and refined across the Trans-Himalayan region, Sowa-Rigpa is a holistic medical tradition rooted in Buddhist philosophy. It brings balance to body, mind, and spirit through a system of diagnosis, prevention and healing.
Preserved by generations of Amchis, Ladakh remains one of the last living custodians of this ancient practice. At Stonehedge our in-house Amchi is committed to carrying forward this tradition.
At its core are the three Nyepas (humors): Lung (movement and mind), Tripa (heat and digestion) and Beken (structure and stability). Health lies in their balance; imbalance leads to disease.
Sowa-Rigpa is further grounded in the five elements — Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Space which shape the body, mind and all medicinal formulations.
At Stonehedge, wellness is a journey — thoughtfully held,
deeply felt, and carried with you beyond your time here.
